Blog 6: Thing you are going to do after quarantine

Hello Everybody !!

Today I will tell you about my plans after the quarantine ends.

First I would like to visit my grandfather in the cemetery, I could not go to say goodbye to him, since I had a cold and I did not want to risk getting sick from covid-19. I was very sad.

Second, meet my friends and talk for hours with them, have fun with them. Talking on the webcam is not the same as speaking in person.

Third, visit my family in Valparaiso and Reñaca, I miss them very much. Also enjoy the beach. 

In general I miss people a lot, talking to them, hugging them or just having a good time. I am a loving person, so not being around people depresses me a little.

Blog 5: A Photograph (its story)

Hello everyone!!

The photos that I will show you below are from July 15, 2017.

This was a Saturday day when a lot of snow fell in Santiago, snow had fallen before but never so much, the snow lasted almost a week!!

Friday was a warm day and I didn't have much faith that it would snow. But I stayed up late anyway to see if snow fell or not.

In the morning we dressed warmly with my mom and sister, and went for a walk around the block. The snow was very soft, we had to walk carefully because we slipped and sank.

In the photo on the right side the tree of my house appears, it had so much snow on its branches that they were very fallen due to their weight but not broken, and they obstructed the exit from my house.

Everything looked very beautiful covered in snow! Although it was very cold and we had no light. I wish it snowed again !!

Blog 4: My favorite music artist/ band

Hi, I don't currently have a favorite band or singer, but I listen to music of various kinds like k-pop, pop, rock, bachata, rap, etc.

I like to listen to music in different languages, such as English, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, etc.

The songs I listen to have more to do with how I feel, if I feel happy I listen to happy songs or songs that have a catchy beat. But if I feel angry, I hear loud songs or the lyrics express anger.


Before when I was about 16 years old I really liked a K-pop group called "Super Junior", because I liked the choreography of the songs and I learned some steps that I don't remember now. Some of the songs they liked the most were Super Girl, Sorry Sorry and Bonamana.

This group is made up of 10 singers, in addition to singing some of them are actors, models, or worked on the radio, they are multi-faceted. It is also one of the first K-pop groups to be successful internationally.

Blog 3: Your favorite piece of technology

I think it is difficult to choose one, there are so many.


I would say that my favorite is the notebook, since it allows you to do many things, such as having books, games, movies or even work. Also with the internet we can communicate with people from all over the world.

I like the notebook because I use it to read a lot, like mystery, supernatural, fantasy and science books. I also use it to study, with the pandemic I use it for online classes.

The apadtacion of the computer to make it portable is great, with notebooks they can be moved easily which allows its use to be more comfortable to use.

In my opinion, the use of the computer or notebook has become more important with the pandemic, since without it it is difficult to study or work. The bad thing is that not everyone has access to it.

Blog 2: Why did you choose to study this degree?

Hello!! 

I am currently studying Forest Engineering at the University of Chile. I am always struck by nature and its mysteries, as there is always something new to discover that makes it so wonderful.

When I was at school I was not very clear about what I was going to study, I was very indecisive, I felt like I didn't have time and I had to make a very important decision for my future.

So I took a year to think about it and work, at the end of that year I decided to study Informatic Engineering. At first everything was fine, I felt that I had chosen well, but as time passed I realized that it was not what I was looking for, I felt that something was missing. 

 I like what I study because it makes me feel good, with a purpose. Although I do not have the best grades, I understand what I study and what my mistake was, it is not something that is done mechanically, as I did in informatic.

Also I really like going out in the field, that my future job is not necessarily to be locked in an office, which allows me to explore nature.

Hello!! My name is Macarena Ramírez and this is my first blog.

Loki

I was born in Santiago and live with my mother and my sister, in addition to our pets, two cats (Wilson and Loki) and a dog (Luna), we are a small family.

I love spending time with my family and friends, I am affectionate person and I like to give hugs to the people I love.

I love playing with my cat Loki, he is very sleepy and naughty cat, he likes to climb on the Christmas tree.

I study Forest Engineering. I like it because I am interested in nature and I am concerned about the environment.

Before I studied Informatic Engineering, I was doing well, I had good grades, but it wasn't gratifying to me, it made me feel that I had a heavy backpack.

I like to desvover new hobbies, for example this semester I enrolled in an archery course.

I really like reading, my favorite series of books is Harry Potter by J.K Rowling. I also like to make crafts, paint, watch series or movies.
